About Us

In accordance with our mission, we provide
ongoing educational programs in the visual and performing arts for children and adults.
We work closely with local schools to develop innovative programs in art awareness,
in which we acquaint students and teachers with various aspects of art in their environment,
as well as how to express this awareness in various forms such as works of art and musical performance.

Who We Are?

The CAC

Established in 2006, The Cliffside Artists Collaborative collects, preserves, presents and promotes the work of visual and performing artists in Northern Ohio for the enrichment and education of its citizens and the global community.

The CAC provides ongoing educational programs in the visual and performing arts for children and adults. The CAC works closely with local schools to develop an innovative program in art awareness, in which the CAC acquaints students and teachers with various aspects of art in their environment, as well as how to express this awareness in various forms such as works of art and musical performances.

The CAC has held numerous educational conferences and seminars for other non-profit entities, including the Brunswick, Highland and Wadsworth School Districts. An emphasis is placed on student enrichment along side curriculum planning for art activities.

Cliffside Artists Collaborative is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Art Awareness

Launched in 2008, the Art Awareness Project is designed to educate students in Medina County and beyond about different occupations in the arts, and to allow them to interact with artists from every walk of life. The program is targeted to high school art students, who attend in-school workshops along with after-school workshops at the Sargent-Laessig Museum of Fine Arts.

Students have the opportunity to meet various kind of artists, including graphic designers, architects, art educators and fine artistsĀ  Unifying all of the workshop sessions and discussions is the principal idea that art surrounds us everywhere and that the role of the the artist is to interpret and portray art for the enrichment and enjoyment of all.

The pilot program in Art Awareness began with art students at Brunswick High School, located in Northeast Ohio. After receiving a tremendous amount of enthusiasm form the students involved, the CAC is continuing to expand by increasing the number of workshops involved, as well as implementing the program in more local school districts.

The CAC's Pilot Program in Art Awareness was completed in 2009 for which founder Sara Kass was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA) at a special award ceremony in Columbus, Ohio.

Thank You

The Sargent-Laessig Museum of Fine Arts

The Sargent-Laessig Museum of Fine Arts holds over 400 works of art by renowned Northern Ohio artists, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel and sculpture. Situated along a ravine off a secluded wooded street in Hinckley, Ohio, the museum is designed to showcase art in a living environment.

The newly renovated five-story home, also known as Cliffside, features art in nearly every room to demonstrate that not all museums need to be the stereotypical white-washed buildings. Combining the last names of Robert Laessig and Michael G. Sargent, the museums displays beautiful works of art in harmony with the serene location.
